California is becoming a leader in the fight against energy consumption. California's government has proposed that the state will ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs by the year 2012. This bill should speed up the transition to energy-efficient light sources. Changing the average inefficient incandescent sources to the more efficient compact fluorescent sources. |

How much will this lighting plan save?The proposed goal is to reduce power while at the same time cutting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants by 1.8 million metric tons a year. That is the same as removing 400,000 cars from the California highways. If this bill is adopted from our other states the United States will be leading the fight to reduce the consomption of energy.
