Our home lighting picks this week were inspired by The Black Eye Peas. For their most recent tour “The Beginning ” the Black Eye Peas’ outfits were designed and created by Philips Lighting’s chief design officer, Rogier Van der Heide and his team, along with The Black Eye Peas’ lead costume designer. Their outfits are illuminated with innovative LED and OLED technology.

The Black Eye Peas are always on the cutting edge of music and fashion and have taken it to a new level on their new tour. Fergie’s fashion forward leather catsuit features over 75 OLED panels. The panels were controlled remotely through a software program to orchestrate patterns and lighting sequences to the music set-list. Taboo and apl.de.ap also wear custom leather costumes that featured LEDs. apl.de.ap’s leather LED suit was designed to imitate a graphic equalizer and Taboo’s suit featured nearly 1,000 LEDs that moved across his body in sync with his band mates.

Our lighting picks this week all feature bright, energy saving LED technology with stylish designs. LED light fixtures produce a beautiful bright light that is great for general lighting and special purpose lighting.  So Let’s get it started…..all puns intended.
