Every light source has distinctive characteristics that require specific types of dimmers. It is necessary to use a dimmer that is intended for your specific lighting source. Popular Types of Dimmers

Toggle dimmers – feature a small slider that is next to the toggle switch. The Toggle switch turns on & off the light while the slider controls the intensity of light.

Lutron Introduces the Skylark eco-dim Control


Lighting and ceiling fan manufactures are becoming more and more concerned with the future of the Earth through energy savings by manufacturing products that reduce energy consumption and reduce waste.  Of course they understand that they are tapping into a new energy conscious market of consumers as well.  Introducing money saving products sells, I would say.

Lutron Introduces the Skylark Eco-Dim Light Dimming Control

light dimming controlThe Skylark eco-dim by Lutron Electronics ships to you already in eco mode ready to save 15% energy as soon as it is installed.  Installation usually does not take more than 15 minutes.  Lutron only offers two eco-dim controls the Skylark single pole white wall and the Skylark 3-way white wall light dimmer.

The Sklylark Eco-Dim has the following features:

  • When in eco-dim mode saves 15% energy and extends lamp life four times as compared to a standard light switch.
  • Finger slider moves up to brighten the light and down to dim light
